New Chase VISA Photospot is after my retro EPCOT loving heart.

April 3, 2017 Epcot, Walt Disney World, FL

I recently visited EPCOT for my birthday back in March, and one of the things on my to do list was the Chase Disney Visa Photo Spot at the Imagination Pavilion. I try to take advantage of these little photo spot perks because the lines are usually pretty short and always have the A list characters.

This same spot used to be where you could meet Figment during 1999-2000 (I believe?). Here he is below in all of his cuteness. But sadly, I have to say that I didn't get to meet him at this spot. For some odd reason, I didn't visit EPCOT from about 1994-2001. I know right?! Who am I?

Here's some photos from March of 2016 where some of the remnants of the Figment meet & greet still existed. It was SUPER cute and colorful, but I never thought I would see such an amazing makeover as what you are about to see.

When you first walk in, you see this simple, yet adorable EPCOT artwork...

Followed by this Spaceship Earth light up triangle wall! It almost takes me back to the 1980s & 1990s of EPCOT Center, reminding me of the Rainbow Corridor and the line queue of Horizons.

Okay, so that might have been a little bit of a stretch. Nothing could ever compare to these two. (above: Dreamfinder & Figment in the Rainbow Corridor, below: Horizons queue)

The main queue has this beautiful Spaceship Earth pattern wall with these trippy, light-changing diamonds in the middle.

Pretty impressive, and these images do not even do them justice. It may be a small transformation, but I really hope this look and traditional EPCOT design and aesthetic continues with more refurbishments in the future. I have heard of a future haul of EPCOT, and I'm really hoping the imagineers bring back what we want: Rainbow colors, things that light up all pretty, and the obvious...a Figment meet & greet!

Thank you Photopass for capturing the above "Melissa Surprised Face."

Even though they weren't Figment & Dreamfinder, I still got to meet two of my favorites, Goofy & Mickey! This photo area definitely beats waiting in line at the character spot any day!

  2. I went to Epcot last year and found it to be the least favourite of my Disney theme parks. However the fireworks at the end of the day were the best I have seen in my entire life
