A Symphony In Spectromagic!

January 20, 2017 magic kingdom, wdw

With all the hype about the Main Street Electrical Parade returning to Disneyland and after seeing it for the last time at the Magic Kingdom a few months ago, I wanted to share some photos from (in my opinion) THE best light parade that has ever existed: Spectromagic.

This opinion comes from a late 80s/early 90s Disney kid who grew up with this parade and thankfully got to see it one last time in April of 2009. Back then, before the big bang of social media, I didn't know this would be the last time and I'm so glad I took the time to pick a good spot in Liberty Square and whip out my camera.

I'll tell you right off the bat what my favorite part is, & that's when Mickey first appears in the beginning. So many feels.

I also really loved the abundance of disco balls throughout this parade. They may seem out of date now, but they really added to the lighting effects.

And who could forget these...crazy...weird looking space guys with colorful hair? And some of them twirling around on larger than life disco balls?

I honestly forgot about Jaq & Gus! Sometimes I don't even notice certain characters when I'm in the moment watching (lol or photographing) them, until later!

One of my favorite Cindy pictures ever, and with her older hairstyle too!

I love when I catch the characters interacting with the kids in the audience!

And here's Minnie, ending the parade with a bang...and more disco balls!

I hope you guys enjoyed these old pictures of one of my favorite parades, as well as one of my favorite park songs of all time! Let's keep crossing our fingers that Disney will send another beautiful light parade our way in the future!
