My Disney Style - 21st Century Vintage

August 10, 2016

So as you guys probably already know ... I'm a Disnerd and I LOVE putting together the perfect outfit for my Disney trips. Sometimes these turn into costumes, but I've learned to try to stick with something simple and comfortable, while still showing off some of my favorite vintage and unique pieces.

I originally posted this on my lovely friend Elleisforshe's blog but I decided to share this (and hopefully more outfits in the near future). If you haven't already visited her blog, definitely check it out! She is super creative, stylish, and has a great eye for vintage clothing and accessories.

Here is an oldie of me from when I visited EPCOT for the first time and got to meet Minnie in her old futuristic rainbow and silver costume. Oh, do I miss EPCOT Center in the 80s. I loved this look so much, I decided to put together a similar (and comfortable) look to wear to the parks.

When putting together an outfit to wear to Disney, I start with one main piece that stands out to me and then I build from there. I first found this silver sequin dress at Rue21 for $19.99, and knew it was perfect for this ensemble. It may look like a disco ball of a dress, but it is surprisingly very lightweight and comfortable. We all know how important that is here in Florida! I also wear bike shorts underneath all of my dresses I wear to Disney. I don't ever want to feel uncomfortable stepping onto the Test Track!

Since I love to make Mickey Ears, I made these silver and rainbow ears to match (You can purchase them HERE at my shop). It is very easy to make your own custom ears (Pinterest is your friend), or you can always find some fabulous shops on Etsy that sell custom ears.

For some of my vintage pieces in this look (Figment backpack and Epcot camera strap) I owe to the wonderful Ebay, but I have also found some beautiful vintage accessories and clothing from Etsy as well.

My purple Minnie Mouse button is from when I first visited Walt Disney World in 1989. I’m so glad that I saved these older buttons, because I really enjoy wearing them to this day.

I hope you all enjoyed this look, and remember, the most important thing when putting together a cute Disney outfit is comfort. Always make sure to wear good shoes and clothing you don’t mind walking around all day in! I hope to be posting more outfits very soon, because my next Disney trip is right around the corner ... and I've got dozens more outfits to share!
