How Have I Not Had School Bread? | Best Dessert From The Norway Pavilion

April 10, 2014

I've been going to Disney World a ton since I was four, and it still excites me to know there are so many things I haven't seen or done here yet. For some reason, I have never visited the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot until earlier this year. I'm so behind on this. I've heard so much about this School Bread phenomena recently on IG and also on many Disney blogs that I follow, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about!

Let's go try some School Bread ya'll! As you can see here (above), I was all decked out in my Elsa shirt  and Elsa ears and was so disappointed at the three hour wait to meet Anna and Elsa in Norway… already at 10am!

Walking into the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, the fresh and sugary smells take your breath away! I love the folk-art decor of this place, and the adorable little troll greeting you as you walk in!

Of course there's some beautiful Norwegian chandy candy!

If you look down, some of the tiles on the floor have the prettiest little paintings on them.

And… here's the sweets...

As you can see, the School Bread is at the top right, but the Kringla also has sandwiches and many other pastries such as cinnamon rolls, pretzels, troll horns, cheesecakes, and many other yummy Norwegian specialties. The rullekake may be on my list to try next time!

No wait, those troll horns look delicious too!

And here's the real celebrity here, the School Bread. Honestly, it was just as yummy as everyone has said it was! It's pretty simple, a sweet bun filled with vanilla custard and topped with toasted coconuts, and SO good! I was super impressed!
