The Norway Pavilion After the Frozen Phenomenon

February 4, 2014

Now, back to my Frozen obsession… one thing I was looking forward to on this trip was seeing Elsa and Anna again and collecting some pretty Frozen merchandise, like the Art of Frozen book, an Elsa doll, or maybe an Olaf plush. Unfortunately, I don't believe Disney had anticipated the huge success of Frozen, being that there was no merchandise anywhere and the Elsa and Anna meet and greet reached up to 6 hours one day I was there!

I didn't get to meet Elsa and Anna this trip, but I did enjoy the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe and some school bread (look for complete blog post coming soon!) and also the beautiful Stave Church that is now filled with inspiration artifacts from the movie Frozen.

Before Frozen, this was filled with all sorts of different Norwegian and Viking artifacts. Most of the items are still very similar, and they still relate to Norway and its history.

If you have seen Frozen and have been to the Norway Pavilion at Epcot, you can see how much of this pavilion is reflected in the movie. I've heard rumors of Disney changing Maelstrom into a Frozen themed ride, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I really like the way it is, and it's probably one of the only rides at Epcot that remains pretty untouched. Just as long as they don't get rid of the trolls and that gorgeous mural at the beginning of Maelstrom!

I love the inspiration artifacts for Anna! This reminds me of the wedding artifacts and clothing from the Puffins Roost shop.

I love how Frozen has impacted this pavilion and increased its popularity, because it has always been such a beautiful part of the World Showcase. I just hope it doesn't change Maelstrom too much! Check back for more photos from my trip!
