My Disney Favorites | The Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland

December 24, 2013

Merry Christmas Eve! I have one last holiday inspired Disney Favorite for this year. Yesterday, I discussed my favorite holiday themed event in Walt Disney World, The Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at the Hollywood Studios. My favorite holiday themed event at Disneyland is the beautiful Haunted Mansion Holiday in New Orleans Square.

I just recently shared a post about the Jingle Cruise at Walt Disney World, and how I hope that this will inspire Disney to bring other holiday attractions to Florida... hint hint... maybe Jack Skellington? Pretty please?? Every year before Halloween in Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion gets a huge makeover to depict scenes from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I don't mean just a few small decorations and what not, the entire ride is completely transformed into Halloweentown and Christmastown, featuring Jack, Oogie Boogie, Zero, and so many others. The theme ends after Christmas, going back to the original Haunted Mansion. I apologize for the poor quality in my photos, some are from back when I used a cheap film camera back in the early 2000s!

This isn't my favorite version of the Haunted Mansion, but I am in love with the decor of the exterior. It has inspired me over the years for decorating my house for Halloween, adding black boas, skulls, and large jack-o-lanterns everywhere.

Ah yes, here you can barely read the date of the image on the bottom right hand corner (vintage!). This was when my parents and I visited on Christmas day in 2002. Thank goodness for technology!

I love these wreaths, especially the clock countdown to Xmas!

Goodnight everyone! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas tomorrow!
