Planning For My Upcoming Walt Disney World Trip | 2 More Days!

November 5, 2013

I'm so excited to be going back to Walt Disney World in just 2 days! I have a ton of fun stuff planned, and there are numerous new things I want to see. I just hope I have enough time to do everything, because all of this new stuff is pretty awesome!

First off, the main reason I planned this trip was to go during the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney. I've always wanted to go to this, and I'm so excited to meet a couple of my favorite artists there, Noah (below: painting "Ariel Flounder") and Katie Kelly (2nd below: painting "All Aboard"). I've also heard amazing things about the sidewalk chalk artists, and I'm also looking forward to meeting some of the Vinylmation artists as well!

As far as eating goes on this trip, I've definitely made some good choices. Of course I had to make a breakfast date at the Kona Cafe, a dinner at Shula's Steakhouse, and also at the newly renovated California Grill! This is probably one of my favorite Disney restaurants, and I can't wait to see the new updates. They've swapped the 90s carpet and decor for a more mid-century style, and they've also added Mary Blair art and prints throughout the restaurant!

During my Disney trip in July, I was able to experience the new Starbucks on Main Street (i.e.: GREAT idea, and totally makes up for taking away 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!). This trip, I'll get to see the Fountain View updated into the new Starbucks in Epcot. I really liked the decor of this place before, so I really hope they didn't change too much. But hey, I'm not complaining if there's Starbucks coffee involved!

I'm torn with the new flavors coming to Club Cool. I'm curious to try new ones, but I LOVED coming in here and getting that strawberry soda... from Japan I believe? They will be serving Fanta, which I love, and a Peruvian soda which I've heard almost tastes like bubble gum. Of course, they'll still be serving the Beverly. Ew.

There's a new meet and greet with Mickey Mouse as a magician in Town Square Theater. What else is interesting about this Mickey meet and greet.... oh yeah, HE TALKS! I'm expecting myself to turn back into the four-year-old me that first met him 24 years ago and turn completely speechless! Lol.

Here's a few things on my shopping list for this trip: 1. Vintage Walt Disney World Mickey Mouse and Friends tee, 2. Alex and Ani Cinderella bangle, 3. Minnie matching gloves, hat, and scarf, 4. Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke.

I'm probably setting my hopes high for the Haunted Mansion Dooney, since they were sold out a couple of months ago when they first came out. But, I did read on the Disney Parks Blog a few days ago that they have sent additional orders of this bag to Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts, so I will be on the lookout!

I'm also thinking I need some Haunted Mansion bust ornaments for my Halloween inspired Christmas tree this year. I also want to get some pretty Disney Christmas decor for the house too!

I'm packing and getting everything together for my trip as we speak, even though I've had my outfits picked out about a week ago! I know, I'm a dork. I can't wait to experience all of these new events and attractions at Disney, and I'll be making sure to take lots and lots of photos for future posts! 2 more days...
