Remembering Snow White's Scary Adventures

September 4, 2013

So lately I've really been reminiscing about old rides & places at Disney. With the new Fantasyland expansion and Disney Springs construction just beginning, it's really making me wish I took full advantage of some lost attractions. Still mourning over the loss of my favorite ride EVER, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Lol!), I feel like no ride is safe anymore! Last summer, I got to ride Snow White's Scary Adventures for the last time. I believe it closed a week later. This isn't one of my Disney favorites, but definitely a ride I would always go on when I was at the Magic Kingdom. I'm a big fan of the dark rides, and this one was so great!

One of my best friends, Erin, took the next two photos. I feel like eventually they will completely do away with the medieval-faire style of fantasyland that I have been familiar with since my childhood.

I love the murals that a lot of the older rides have, like Peter Pan's Flight, Maelstrom, Spaceship Earth, to name a few. They are so gorgeous! I'm pretty sure there's a hidden Mickey in all of them too! I know in this one, there are hidden Mickey's on the blue shorts hanging out to dry, and also in the bricks of the cottage right by Snow White's face.

Even though I am very disappointed that I will never get to ride this again, I am very hopeful for the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train opening in 2014! I feel like the Magic Kingdom desperately needs another high volume ride (like Space Mt, Splash Mt, & Thunder Mt), and hopefully this one makes the cut. I mean, Voyage of the Little Mermaid is cute, but I need more! To me, it seems like after they took away 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, nothing has really replaced it. There's also a part of me that just really wants another thrill ride to come to the Magic Kingdom!

The main thing I really liked about this ride was that it was actually pretty scary. Yeah, I know its a kiddy ride, but I seriously remember being pretty terrified of this as a kid. I miss the part when the Evil Queen turns her head around right in front of you. I so wish I had taken a picture of her! But I would have had to use the flash on my camera, and I hate doing that. I don't want to interrupt everyone else's magical Disney experience!

Aw, Dopey! *Sob* I will definitely miss this ride, but I am very hopeful of new rides and attractions to come! I am also very hopeful to have an Evil-Queen-Nightmare-Free Disney vacation from now on! Bye bye Snow White's SERIOUSLY Scary Adventures!
