My Disney Favorites | Beaches and Cream at Disney's Beach Club Resort

September 9, 2013

I'm a huge sweets lover, and I always have to have a few sweets and snacks throughout the day at Disney. Anyplace that has cookies, ice cream, brownies, sundaes, and cupcakes, I've most likely been there and stuffed myself crazy. During the summertime at Disney World, the only thing on my mind is a huge, cold sundae with some form of hot fudge and Oreos. There are so many places to get great ice cream at Disney World too, like The Fountain at the Dolphin Resort, The Plaza on Main Street, and I love the Fountain View at Epcot. But my hands down favorite ice cream place to eat at is Beaches and Cream at Disney's Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World.

Beaches and Cream is located at The Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World, right next to Epcot. It's tucked away on the backside of the hotel, right next to one of the pools. Don't bother trying to go to the Disney website to make a reservation, because they don't accept them. This is probably the only thing I dislike about this place. Especially during the busy times, you're probably going to wait at least an hour to get a table (But it's SO worth it!). They do sell a few select things to go, but it's just not the same as actually sitting here, enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere, listening to Buddy Holly on the jukebox, and smelling the sweet sundaes and milkshakes being made right next to you!

The exterior really doesn't do anything for this place, until you walk inside, and it feels like you've stepped back in time to a 1950s ice cream parlor. One of my favorite time periods is the 1950s, and I have a huge love for diners and ice cream parlors. I obviously didn't grow up in this period to remember these during their heyday, but something about them just feels like home. I love the pastel colors, the tile work, the light fixtures, and everything else about the decor of Beaches and Cream.

And, here's a little close-up of the tile work of the floor. So adorable.

Let's not forget the most important thing about this place, the yummy food! My favorite meal here is the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque, it totally takes me back to my childhood.

My absolute favorite dessert to get here is the Fudge Mud Slide. Who doesn't love a hot brownie with hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, and the fact that they make the Oreos on top into a Mickey?! Way too good. Just writing this makes me want to dig into my fridge and pray for something I can whip together to be somewhat similar to this!

One of the things on my bucket list is to get the Kitchen Sink here. It's basically a kitchen sink bowl, with a scoop of every ice cream they have, with every topping they have, then with whipped cream and cherries on top. Not bad for a $28.99 sundae!

I hope you've enjoyed my favorite ice cream place at Disney! I would definitely put it on my top list of things to do at Disney, and hopefully waiting in line forever to eat here will be so worth it to you too! I mean, don't we usually wait in line for an hour to spend about 3 minutes in a log that drops into a briar patch? Exactly. I think I can wait an hour for a mind blowing ice cream sundae!
