My VERY First Disney Trip | Disneyland 1988

August 27, 2013

I thought I would start off my Disney posts with probably the most important Disney trip I have taken. This trip started it all, and also holds some of my first childhood memories. It was my first trip to a Disney park, and I was very lucky that it was Disneyland. Nothing against Disneyland, but I honestly think I would have been disappointed after going to the metropolis of Walt Disney World! But anyways, the only Disney I was exposed to at that time was my obsession with Cinderella and my everyday watching of The Disney Afternoon. I literally had no idea what I was in for.

I was 3 years old, and it was 1988. At the time, my parents and I lived in El Paso, Texas and my Aunt lived in Arizona. My Mom and Dad decided to load up our van and head out west for an amazing road trip to visit my family, and visit Disneyland!

This is me and my cousin Joey with one of the mice from Cinderella. I think by the look on my face, I'm desperately wanting to meet Cinderella!

I had no idea how amazing Disneyland would be, until I was there face to face with my idols. I'm serious, I really thought I met Cindy for reals.

Favorite Chill Spot in Disneyland: The porch on Mainstreet! We sat here for a while waiting to watch the parade, and now everytime we go to Disneyland its like a tradition. We always have to take a little rest here! (I'm wondering how I got 2 Disney hats, and why I'm wearing them at the same time?)

My scariest memory here was riding the Skyway and going through the Matterhorn. My first encounter with the creepy yeti abominable snowman. Thank goodness it wasn't comparable to the updated yeti from Mount Everest in the Animal Kingdom. That would have scarred me from Disney for life!

Lol loving my Dad's blue blocker aviators. Awesome.

I wish they still had the marionettes out like this for kids to see. Now I think this show is above the sign for Pinocchio's Daring Journey.

I had so much fun with my family at Disneyland on this trip. It really was the beginning of my crazy Disney obsession! Hope you enjoyed it, and stay tuned for more Disney favorites and Disney snapshots!
